What is your relationship with your website like? Your website has the potential to be much much more than a marketing tool if you know how. It has the potential to help you grow your vision, affirm your gifts and talents, develop the ‘know, like and trust’ thing with your clients, state your intentions and share and record your journey.
Your website is like a blank canvass waiting for you to ooze all of the vibrant colours of your personality on to it. You can use it in so many creative ways to engage with potential customers. In today’s marketplace people really like to know who they are buying from and warm to websites that have personality.
So here are 6 ways that you can use your website as a tool for growth as well as part of your marketing strategy.
1. Who are You?
Setting up your website gives you an opportunity to really define who you are and what your values are. You get a chance to think about what your ideal business looks like now and where you want to take it in the future. The more closely this reflects your authentic self the more powerful this process will be both in terms of attracting customers or clients, but also the life that you want. This authenticity will be embodied in your branding and should set the flavour for all of your marketing material.
2. What is Your Vision?
Start with the end point in mind. Where do you think you want to go with your business in the long term (you might change your mind along the way) but it is good to have a long term plan. The website you are creating right now may not be the one that you end up with in the long run, but that is ok, it is a stepping stone. The important thing is to create a structure that will help you grow in the right direction. Holding this vision, focusing on it and expanding the details regularly will help you create and attract the success that you want.
3. How much are you worth?
It is really useful exercise to get really clear about how much you are worth. How much should people pay for your time and products? There are lots of ‘outer’ tasks attached to this like market research, but also some inner challenges too. Working through this is really powerful exercise.
4. Who do you you want to work with?
Take some time to really think about who your ideal customers are and then use your website to speak to them. Spend time visualising them coming to your site and reading your carefully chosen words and see them hitting home. This is the Law of Attraction in Action! You can use your blog and social media to seek them out and keep conversations going. This allows you to record your journey, show people how you work and articulate what you are thinking. Putting your thoughts into words and pictures will not only boost your visibility to your customers, but will clarify your intentions and so sharpen your powers of attraction.
5. What are your boundaries?
Your terms and conditions are a great way of setting up your boundaries to keep both you and your customers safe. Spend time getting down to nitty gritty with these and once you have set them up you will be much clearer about where the goal posts are before the game begins.
6. Affirm Yourself and Bask in Compliments
The words of your website are like powerful affirmations about you. Craft them carefully and repeat them over to yourself so that they become second nature to you. Then go one step further and gather your testimonials. It’s a great feeling to be acknowledged and more the the point, to deeply acknowledge yourself.
So this is why I looooooooove working with websites WITH people in a coaching kind of way, rather than for people. I just love the whole process and really get the power and energy behind choosing the right words and images.
If you would like to work in this way with me then get in touch, I’d love to discuss it!
